Description

I mentioned in my journal two days ago that some of my OCs have received massive re-designs the past year... time to put my money where my mouth is and actually show you some proof!

Say hello to my precious dragon lady Nocturna, formerly known as Kage, with her scythe called "Lullaby".
The "XVIII The Moon" in the title is a reference to the 18th Great Arcana (I have no idea if that´s what they are called in English) in a tarot card set, since quite a few of my OCs could be linked to either the names of the cards or even their meanings.

...Come to think of it, I´m just gonna post some info about her down below so I can use this as her new ref-sheet.

Short bio:
Nocturna was sent to Nova alongside the phoenix Crepusculus to free the planet from the ever-present twilight and thus allowing life to form on the planet´s surface.
Splitting the twilight into light and darkness and creating the day and night cycle, the two deities watched over the lands and its inhabitants for hundreds of years while keeping their respective elements under control.
Nocturna quickly realized that the mortals could not adapt to the darkness of the night properly, getting lost over and over in the shadows that ruled the land at night. Knowing that they would need something to guide them during those late hours, Nocturna focused her magic and formed the moon high up in the sky before asking Crepusculus to gift this new stony guardian a spark of light, which he happily did.
When after two thousand years Crepusculus fell victim to his own greed and tried to enslave all living beings, the six-winged dragon saw it as her duty to stop him. Unable to make the phoenix change his mind, the conflict ended in a war between the two gods which eventually claimed both their lives. As they both tumbled out of the sky, Nocturna flapped her wings one last time which caused countless feathers to come loose. The feathers were set aflame by the burning hot sparks falling of the dying sun god and - through a magical force unknown to anyone alive - then clung to the sky to become what the people of Nova would from then on call the stars.

Personality:
As a deity, Nocturna sees the need to act as a role model for all of those that look up to her. This is the reason why, whenever she does something while being watched, every single action she takes is attempted to be done with a certain degree of serenity and grace combined.
This behavior is cast aside when Nocturna is with friends, people she trusts or someone she has known for a long time. In those situations, her happy and cheerful, sometimes even clumsy personality is revealed.
When separated and/or alone from everyone else, though, the dragon lady often finds herself worried about how her actions might impact the life of others and what would happen if one day she would fail her people. She so far has never shared any of those darker thoughts with others, however.

Other:
- She was not born with the "stars" on the inside of her wings. These markings were results from her fight with Crepusculus and were caused by the sparks of one of his attacks getting into contact with her feathers. The sparks were not strong enough to burn through the wings, but managed to leave marks of incandescence.
- The tiny floating moon between the tips of her large horns only glows at night. In the bright sunlight of day it can sometimes even vanish completely.
